Scope Of Activities:
1. Fund Raising
In order to carry out a successful community project, sufficient amount of funds are needed. Fund raising has been a convenient and effective way to generate funds and raise awareness concerning the important of charity amongst students in campus.
Through fund raising, SIFE members get the chances to work in a team as well as enhancing their management and communication skills by collaboration with companies and social sectors. A fundraising event is a great way to bond a group of people. Community is obviously doing it for a good cause and that is a very good thing, as well. Fundraisers are great ways to make SIFE team stronger.
Another reason why fundraising is great for team building is because the results can come so fast. Team members have to practice and practice and have to an event in a weekend or even a day and see results, right away. More and more teams and businesses are using fundraisers to build team unity in the new era. It is just a great way to build up confidence for your group members and a great way to do something great for your community, at the same time.
2. Community Outreach Program
SIFE students leverage their classroom experience, the expertise of their faculty advisor and business advisory board, and the resources of their university to develop projects that empower people to live better lives.
Their projects address a variety of topics, such as market economics, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, personal success skills, environmental sustainability and business ethics. Rather than mandating a uniform set of projects, teams are encouraged to work within the framework of these topics while adapting their approach to the diverse needs of people in different communities. They help aspiring entrepreneurs achieve success, equip the unemployed with skills to find productive employment, teach families how to gain financial security, and bring economic development to struggling neighborhoods.
The result is a program that is global in scope and purpose with the flexibility and responsiveness of a community-based organization. The culmination of the SIFE program is an annual series of competitions that provide a forum for teams to present the results of their projects, and to be evaluated by business leaders serving as judges. Teams compete first at the regional and national levels, then at the international level when the national champion teams from each country meet at the SIFE World Cup.
When all is said and done, SIFE teams' projects benefit the students as much as communities they serve, and a healthy spirit of competition helps focus students’ talents and builds a culture of excellence.
3. Young Entrepreneur Center (YEC)
The center aims at national development and planned to be the regions’ corner stone for technology commercialization and entrepreneurship advancement. The Young entrepreneur Center (YEC) targets university students, researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs and others. According to our development plan, the next step will be the establishment of a business school to be linked to the center.
Working closely with local and international organizations; the YEC will focus on issues such as: capacity building, consulting, counseling and developing the local “Entrepreneurial Personality & Spirit”. Furthermore, the YEC will actively work on extending the intellectual wealth of Malaysia, and collaboration countries while maintaining strong links with the business community in general. Entrepreneurs have a wonderful record of achievement. The great enterprises of today are almost, without exception, built on the foundations created from the vision, talent and drive of entrepreneurs. For example, the great retailers such as Walmart and Marks & Spencer, the major oil companies such as BP, and the leading consumer electronics business, Sony, are all founded by entrepreneurs of vision and energy.
